New Node
The "New Node" page allows the user to provision a new node in the cluster. It remains the user's responsibility to install and start SAFplus Platform on the new node.
The "Name" and "Slot" are required fields; although the slot will only be used if the node is not in an ATCA chassis. Otherwise the node's actual slot will be used. These values also must be defined in the asp/etc/asp.conf file on the new node (this is the mechanism used to "connect" the provisioned node with a real node.
The IP Address, Admin username, Admin password, and SAFplus Platform directory fields are needed for application software deployment. Application deployment uses the "scp" protocol, and so if the cluster is configured with ssh private/public keys then it is not necessary to fill out these fields. There are many tutorials online describing this configuration so it will not be discussed here. For security reasons, using ssh keys is recommended for deployment.
